Contact sheet generator

Arrange photos into labeled contact sheets. Sort, reorder and preview locally, then export A4 or Letter PDFs and PNGs.

See the whole photo set.

Choose a file to begin, or try the included local sample. Your files stay in this tab.

How to use it

  1. Choose a batch of static photos. New files start in natural filename order, so image2 precedes image10.
  2. Use the image list to move files up or down and remove unwanted photos.
  3. Set paper, rows, columns, filenames and resolution. Navigate every output page.
  4. Download all pages as PDF or save the currently previewed page as PNG.

Questions, answered

Are portrait and landscape photos cropped?

No. Each photo is scaled proportionally to fit its cell. Blank space is preserved where the aspect ratios differ.

Can I reorder images without renaming files?

Yes. Move up and Move down change the output order. Natural filename sort restores a numeric filename order. Newly added files are sorted within their batch and appended.

How are large batches handled?

Up to 72 images and 100 MB of source files are supported. Previews retain only small images; export decodes originals sequentially, closes their bitmaps, and writes one page at a time. Files still need to remain available until export finishes.

Can I export all PNG pages in one click?

This version saves the currently selected PNG page. Use the multipage PDF export for the complete set. Animated formats, GIF and SVG are rejected; this is a static photo index.

Make a photo index you can use

Keep filenames traceable

Filenames connect small printed thumbnails to original files. Natural sorting handles numeric camera sequences; manual moves handle selections. Long labels are shortened to fit, while the image list retains the full filename.

Choose a practical sheet density

Three columns and four rows suit a quick index. Fewer cells give larger thumbnails but more paper. The output resolution controls print raster dimensions, while source pixels still limit actual photo detail.
